E. Stoyanov: Every Euro counts

Each euro is important for Bulgaria, especially in times of crisis, stated the member of the European Parliament Emil Stoyanov during a meeting of a group of Bulgarian MPs from Plovdiv, he invited in Brussels with the Bulgarian  commissioner Kristalina Georgieva. The challenges ahead of a better adoption of the EU funds in Bulgaria were the focus of the meeting that took place in the premises of the European Commission.

"It is of great importance for Bulgaria at these times of financial crisis, to be in the position to use 100% of the EU funding", Emil Stoyanov said.
The parliamentarians led by Ms Mandy Stoyanova, president of the Budgetary Committee in the Bulgarian parliament, met with the Chief of Cabinet of the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Integration Laszlo Andor. They discussed the lifting of the labour restrictions to Bulgarian workers in the EU that are currently applied by 10 member states. According to the Treaty of Accession of Bulgaria, the remainder of the member countries has the right to unilaterally apply restrictions to their work markets for Bulgarians and Romanians until the end of 2013. Emil Stoyanov recalled the recent written declaration of the Bulgarian and Romanian MEPs which calls for removing the barriers to Bulgarian and Romanian workers.

The representatives of the National Assembly and the deputy regional governor of Plovdiv George Ignatov visited also the European Parliament, where they met with former Commissioner for Regional Policy and current President of the Committee for Regional Development in EP Danuta Hubner. She noted that projects under the ISPA preaccession program should be finalized as soon as possible, so as not to lose money on it.
